Air Traffic Services

Air Traffic Services help maintain the safe, orderly and expeditious movement of aircraft within Belize’s controlled airspace and at designated aerodromes. Licensed air traffic controllers provide surveillance, approach and aerodrome control services while coordinating with local units and neighbouring control centres.

Radar and Approach Control Unit

The Radar and Approach Control Unit provides air traffic services to aircraft operating within Belize’s designated controlled airspace. The unit supports separation and coordinates arrivals, departures and en-route phases of flight.

Aerodrome Control Tower

The Tower Unit manages aircraft and authorized ground movements within its designated airspace and manoeuvring areas. Controllers maintain visual and radio communication with arriving, departing and taxiing aircraft and issue the clearances and instructions required for safe operations.
